My goal this week is to get your creative juices flowing. You might see something on this list that reminds you of something else or inspires you to take an idea to the next level. The best thing about these items is that they are all quick and can easily be made with fabric from your stash. (Of course, I wouldn’t fault you for buying new fabric as well. ) I’ll be posting 5 ideas each day this week.
1. Wine Bag
Going to a friend’s house for dinner? Need something to give to a co-worker or newly weds? A wine bag could also easily be part of a larger kitchen gift basket. Plus – there is a free tutorial here!
I envison this with made with Linen and patchwork scraps. Wouldn’t that be so classy!
2. Pot Holders
Of course, Ashley from Film in the Fridge got me all excited about potholders with her recent post. I see them as a triple win! You use up scraps, practice your quiting and have a functional beautiful item to keep or give as a gift. You can find Elizabeth’s (of Oh, Fransson! fame) free tutorial here.
Have large scraps? Or Fat Quarters? Looking for a theme? Or simply trying to reduce the amount of paper your family uses – consider cloth napkins! One of my favorite ladies, Cindy from Skip to my Lou, has a tutorial here. If you have a serger, you could also do double sided with rolled hem edges. Easy Peasy! These two prints paired together would be super fun!
Aprons for play, cooking, gardening, craft shows and more! I have several apron patterns available in the store. The one pictured from Brassy Apple is a pattern download – so you could make it today!
5. Meal Planner
This is my very own tutorial found here. It could be fun also to do a patchwork cover! Don’t you think?
