Spring Quilt Along



April 11, Preparing Fabric
April 12, Sewing Blocks
April 15, Adding sashing and borders
April 18, Backing and quilt sandwich

April 22, Binding

Finished Quilts and Quilt Tops added to the flickr group by May 16th will be in the drawing for (3) $30 gift certificates to the store.

When: Starts April 11th

What: Get the FREE pattern here and see material requirements below

Why: To make a quilt and bag that we can use this summer!

Add pictures along the way and when you’re finished.  The flickr group is here!

Quilt Supplies:
1 Charm Pack (or cut your own 5 inch squares….you’ll need 36 total)
½ yd Sashing (fabric in between the blocks)
¾ yd Border (fabric along outside)
½ yd Binding (fabric that covers up raw edges when done)
1 1/3 yd Backing
46×46 or larger batting

After we finish the quilt…we will take a short break and then make a super cute bag that has a spot to hold the quilt!  PERFECT for summer trips to the park, beach and more!

Bag Schedule:

May 16th, Preparing Fabric
May 18th, Bag Body
May 19th, Straps and Sleeve
May 20th, Finishing Up

Bag Supplies:
1 1/8 yd Bag Front fabric
1 1/8 yd Bag Lining, Straps & Tie
¾ yd Fusible Fleece
4 yd of 1” wide Cotton Belting

Can’t wait for April 11, 2011 and even have it logged on my calendar. What time are you going to start because I’m 5 hours ahead of you guys – I’m in the U.K.
