A little birdie told me that someone special I know is having a little girl.  I love little girls!!!!  And as luck would have it, these Cuddle Blanket kits arrived yesterday evening….so I knew exactly what I had to do.  Make one, of course!

Pretty Paisley Baby Blanket

These kits are AWESOME! The pieces are pre-cut and ready to sew (even the binding!). I finished in an hour – and that was with taking some breaks to check facebook and twitter. LOL Easy instructions are included with each kit – and they also give you lots of tips – so if you’ve never sewn with minkee before, do not fear!

I have 8 kits in the store and all are super super cute fabric combinations. I’ll be making another tonight since I also know of a little boy that will be arriving before too long!  Use the code BABY to get 10% off!!!  Find them here.

In Pittsburgh I had set appointments with my regular companies weeks in advance. My first appointment was at 10 am on Friday morning. I was late. Thankfully I wasn’t too late – so my Timeless Treasures rep was still able to meet with me.   :-)

Timeless Treasures has an adorable line out called Apple.  It is filled with goodness….yummy yummy retro goodness. Cute little owls, yummy apples, trees, swirls, flowers and leaves.

The fabric is cute enough on it’s own – but then they had it displayed using the most adorable pattern, Birdie Big Blocks.  Instantly I knew that I had to get this quilt pattern! And I knew I needed to make it available as a kit for you!  I think it can work with so many fabrics out there!  And of course, it’s available as yardage in my store as well.  :-)

I also thought this would be adorable in the new Just Dreamy fabric….and boy was I right! I will share that with you tomorrow – now I need to go spend some quality time with my family – Hope your weekend is going great!

Do you remember the Christmas Patchwork Quilt I made?  A picture to jog your memory?

Christmas Quilt

My friend, Carly, wrote up this pattern for her Etsy shop. It uses one layer cake (pre-cut 10 inch squares) and one charm pack (pre-cut 5 inch squares). It is a GREAT quilt for beginners!  The top goes together quickly since you’re using pre-cut fabric.

So guess what?!?!?  Carly is letting me sell her patterns in my store.  And I’ve made this exact quilt available as a kit!  So  you can make one too! Even better?  This particular kit includes the backing!  You can find it here.   :-)

Christmas Fabrics for my quilt

Speaking of Christmas….we are about HALF WAY through this year!  WOW!  So even though it’s nice and warm outside – it’s not too early to start your Christmas sewing!   Did you join in the Advent Calendar Sew Along?  I guess I did since I have the button on my blog….but I haven’t made anything yet.  In fact, we have never even used an Advent Calendar in my house.  Oh well.  If you’re looking for Holiday fabrics for the sew along…or for any project,  I have added a few new things to the Seasonal Fabric section of my website.

Okay so you’ve stuck with me this long….why not have a little give away?!?!?  I would love to send ONE person the kit and pattern for this super fun Christmas Quilt.  Just leave me a comment telling me what are some of the gifts you would like to make for the holidays this year.  I like to leave these up for about a week but we’ll be leaving town next week.  So I’m guessing that I’ll need to wrap this up after the weekend.  So comment away!  And if you don’t win…well you know where to find them! :-)

You already know I think this fabric is scrumptious….now I want to know what cute creations you would make with this fun fabric. I have some ideas as well – so it’ll be interesting to see how many are similar.  I was gonna try to be all fancy  – but since I’m taking so long, let’s just say that I’ll pick one project and I’ll send you some of this yummy fabric so you can complete your idea. Let’s say a week? Will that be enough time?

After making the kitchen set for the school auction, I thought to myself

“Wo – man, you need some new kitchen stuff too.”

And so I made myself some new kitchen towels!

Target supplied the organic kitchen towels, I just added the cute fabric along one side.

Super Fast!

Super Fun!

Super Fabulous!

The fabrics are (from front to back):

Aqua Playful Paisley from Farmer’s Market by Sandi Henderson
Navy Deco Rose from Daisy Chain by Amy Butler
Cookies and Cream by Timeless Treasures
Pink Medallion Bloom from Farmer’s Market by Sandi Henderson

One may say, if they were speculating such things, that I like Sandi Henderson’s fabric.

I do.  It’s true. :o

You see the Cookies and Cream fabric?

It’s adorable, don’t you think?

Start thinking of projects to use this Cookies and Cream fabric

Don’t share your ideas quite yet…

Alright – I just had a quick break from today’s scheduled events and was reading the hundred million blogs that I subscribe to -  Did you see the Michael Miller Blog today? (maybe you read Stardust Shoes) Now I know what I am doing with these fabrics! – maybe tonight – maybe tomorrow.  I’ll post again when I’m finished!

Woodland Friends Fabric – from Timeless Treasures

Animals Gone Wild Fabric – from Robert Kaufman

Isn’t it fun?!?!?! AND anyone could do this! (Even you, Kari!  You know Tate would love this little game!!!) If you don’t know how to sew, you could just make the matching squares and forget about the drawstring bag. Then tie a ribbon around the set. Ta Da! Great gift for little kids!!!!
