We've got a great group of teachers ready to take your sewing skills to the next level! Each teacher has years of experience, know how to present the information clearly, and are excited to be passing on their knowledge.
Connie has been sewing since she was a child. She learned machine embroidery about 7 years ago and has been hooked ever since. Connie will be heading most of our BERNINA Friday events as well as the BERNINA monthly clubs. She will also be teaching a lot of our beginning sewing, sewing for girls, and other fun classes.
Amy is a self-taught seamstress who has been sewing for over 30 years. She's had professional experience making patterns for a children's clothing line, making prototypes for a home accessories line, and heading our fun new Pillow of the Month club as well as teaching our beginning sewing, free motion quilting, and other fun and funky projects!
Sandra has taught professionally for 25 years. Fifteen of those years were teaching Jr. High and also High School Home Economics for a few years in Morgan City at Imanual Christian School. She has taught adult sewing in Lafayette for 10 of the 21 years where she and her husband have called home. They have 14 grandchildre most of them girls, whom she makes most of their clothes from heirloom, smocking, to play clothes. Most of all she loves sharing her knowledge with others. One of Sandra's prize students, who had never sewn before she took a lesson, had one of her beautiful heirloom creations used in an advertisement in Sew Beautiful Magazine. Sandra will be teaching our Smocking, Picture Smocking, Bishop Dress, and other sewing/heirloom classes. She will also be heading our Sit-n-Sews starting every Wednesday in October!
Jennifer is one of the owner's of Lola Pink. She should have taken her mother's advice and started sewing when she was young (not that Janet didn't try) but finally saw the light and started sewing about 3 years ago. Jennifer quickly fell in love with sewing clothes, bags, and quilts. Jennifer will be teaching most of the My BERNINA classes as well as the Bag Envy and other fun projects.
