Update - April 21st

The shop is still technically closed to the public, however if you do need to come into the shop, we are here but ask that you please wear a mask. We made the decision to stay officially closed until May 1st although we will continue to reevaluate as needed. Shop hours are still uesday - Friday, we will be open 10am - 4pm and on Saturday 10am - 2pm. We are here answering phones, taking orders, selling machines, curbside delivery, shipping orders, and working on machines.

Update - March 26th

The shop has been closed to customers since Tuesday and I must say, it has been weird! We miss the interaction with our customers and hearing about your projects. Hopefully this whole shelter-at-home thing works and we can get back to normal soon! Thank you to everyone who has continued to shop with us online! Every order means the world to us. In the downtime, Mom and I have been cleaning and rearranging the shop. We can't wait for y'all to come back and see it!

We've updated our hours and we will now be closed on Mondays. On Tuesday - Friday, we will be open 10am - 4pm and on Saturday 10am - 2pm.

Starting next week we will be amping up our Facebook Lives and preparing to start offering classes online. We are super excited!!

Update - March 23rd

Starting at 4pm today, we will close our doors to the public. Mom and I will still be here shipping orders until we are told we can't. We have also added a Local Delivery option to our website - Lafayette, Broussard, Youngsville, Carencro, and Scott. For deliveries, we will leave your package at your front door and call to let you know it's there. If you are outside this area, please use the shipping options. We are also here for curbside takeout. Call when you get to the shop and we come out and drop it in your trunk.

We are still taking delivery for face masks. We will have a tub outside for drops. Thank you so much for participating in the face mask drive!

We have also found a program for us to offer online classes! Stay tuned and we will be getting that setup and rolling soon!

Make sure you use code STAYHEALTHY at checkout and save 19% off your orders.

Stay tuned and more updates will be posted here and on our Facebook page.

Steps We're Taking with the Coronavirus

As much as we hoped and prayed this disease would be more hype than reality, things have gotten very real with the increase in cases in Louisiana. We want our customers to know we are taking things seriously and your safety and health are on the forefront of our minds. We are in the process of making changes at the shop to help mitigate exposure and risk.

A few of the steps we are currently taking include:

  • Leaving the front door open as much as possible so that you won't have to touch then handle coming in and leaving
  • Wiping down counters, handles and other hard surfaces every hour
  • Washing our hands and using hand sanitizer frequently
  • Minimizing use of pens and other tools that multiple customers touch
  • Having hand sanitizer available at the counter for customer's use

Alternative Ways to Shop at Lola Pink

As most of you know, the majority of our fabric and patterns are available for purchase online. We will continue to work on making sure even more of our items are available for purchase. At checkout, you can choose to have your items shipped or be held for pickup. If you would rather not run into the shop to pick up your items, just give us a call when you're in the parking lot and we can run it out to you. You can even pop the trunk and we'll place your package there. Overboard? Quite possibly. But we realize a lot of our customers are in the high-risk age group or have parents that you take care of and we want to make sure you are safe and comfortable.

Classes

For right now, our classes have been canceled and will be rescheduled as soon as we can. We will be keeping up with the latest news and will consider postponing classes if necessary. We will be sure and let you know if it comes to this. If you signed up for a class but now feel it is best that you not come, just call the shop and we will refund the class fees.

We will continue to keep up with the updates from the CDC and take further actions as the situation evolves. We pray that you and your family stay safe and healthy. We hope that you will continue to keep the small businesses in mind when shopping through this event as it tends to affect us harder and quicker than the big box stores. Your friendship and loyalty mean the world to us.

Sincerely,
Jennifer & Janet

PS. Is all of this overboard? We certainly hope so. With that said though, we have had several customers call and say they had the flu. I even had to cancel classes within the last week due to a mild case of bronchitis. If the steps we're taking help keep everyone healthy, we're all for it. We will all be glad when this is done and over and your biggest stress is whether we have run out of that one fabric that you needed 6 more inches of to finish a project.

Information from the CDC and Ways We Can Stay Healthy

For those that haven't gone to the CDC's official page on the coronavirus, click here for the most up-to-date information. This is where we are getting our information from.

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Ways We Can Stay Safe and Healthy:

  • Wash hands often and thoroughly - at least 20 seconds; our bathrooms will stay stocked with soap and we even have song suggestions for you on the mirror
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water
  • Keep surfaces clean and disinfected

Tips While at Shopping

  • Keep your distance as much as possible - keep as much space between you and others especially if someone is sneezing and coughing
  • Limit personal contact - as much as we love hugs, we're OK with a wave for now
  • Keep hand sanitizer handy - if you can't get to a bathroom to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer
  • Just stay home if you aren't feeling well
