Beginning Ruler Work Quilting
Ever wonder how to “quilt as desired”? Would you like to get those UFOs finished? Cherry will show you how easy it is to use ruler templates on your domestic sewing machine in this hands-on beginning quilting 2-Day Workshop. Learn about machine set-up, needles, threads, batting and much more.
Follow the instructions provided in the class supply list to make the small quilt you will use in class.
Quilting Thread in white or cream to match your quilt and a contrasting color to quilt (Aurifil 50wt, So Fine, Bottom Line, etc)
Small scissors / snips
Water soluble marking pen
6.5" x 12.5" (or similar size) ruler to mark quilt
Your sewing kit (seam ripper, pins, etc.)
Pen and paper
5 practice quilt sandwiches
Practice quilt top
Clean and in good working order
Quilting or top-stitch needles 80/12 or 90/14
2 - 3 filled bobbins
Straight stitch throat plate
Quilting extension table (Sew Steady Table) - highly recommended
Sew Steady Free Motion Glider or Supreme Slider
Ruler Work Supplies:
Ruler work presser foot (#72 for BERNINA machines)
Rulers (a kit will be available for purchase with all the required rulers - the approximate price of kit is $100 and includes 6 Westalee rulers/guides)
A supply list including the instructions for making the quilt sandwich and quilt top will be procided upon signup. These must be completed prior to class.
Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please bring a sack lunch.
